Sketching in London

The new Quentin Blake Centre for illustration opened in London last week so I went to have a look on Wednesday. It’s wonderful to see originals of Quentin’s drawings and some of the preliminary sketches leading up to them. They also have a library well stocked with books on illustration and two further spaces for themed exhibitions, a cafe and a gift shop. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. I did a quick sketch with my coffee.

In the afternoon I spent an hour in the Imperial War Museum where I listened to a talk on the Falklands war by a civilian pilot who was tasked to fly troops around. A fascinating talk so I had to sketch him.
